Since february 2018 I have been writing regularly for the Dutch online art magazine Mister Motley. In my texts I tend to connect art to philosophical problems or societal issues. From February until August 2018 I researched the concept of 'evil' within art and wrote several articles on for example the almost mythical (or biblical) aesthetics of evil in the paintings of Fransisco Goya, the horrific war scenes of Ronald Ophuis and the question whether 'bad' people can make good art. My last article was about the exhibition about the Russian filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky in the Eye Filmmuseum in Amsterdam. Most of the articles are originally written in Dutch, but I intend to upload more English translations soon.
